Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional patient service while managing various administrative tasks. This position is essential for maintaining efficient clinic operations and supporting both patients and healthcare providers.

Duties

Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere in the clinic.
Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary.
Assist with health information management by maintaining accurate patient records and files.
Handle medical billing processes, including insurance verification and processing claims.
Provide administrative support to medical staff, including preparing documents and managing correspondence.
Utilize knowledge of ICD-9 coding for accurate billing and documentation.
Ensure compliance with all office policies and procedures related to patient confidentiality and data security.
Assist in the daily operations of the dental office as needed, ensuring a seamless experience for patients.
Address patient inquiries and concerns promptly, enhancing overall patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
Strong understanding of health information management principles.
Familiarity with medical billing practices and insurance processes is highly desirable.
Excellent patient service skills with a focus on communication and empathy.
Proficient in administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and office management.
Knowledge of ICD-9 coding is an asset but not mandatory; training may be provided.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
