Responsibilities
Neonatal Intensive Care RNs (NICU RNs) assess newborns and provide direct and individualized care. NICU RNs coordinate with the healthcare team to implement and evaluate patient care plans. NICU RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Administer medications and nutrients to patients and monitor vital signs
- Provide respiratory care if applicable and specialized feedings
- Monitor specialized equipment used on patients, such as incubators and ventilators
Required Certifications and Experience
- At least 2 years of RN experience and 1 year of recent experience in the specialty you are applying for
- Previous experience with EPIC EMR system
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Prior employment in a Level II NICU setting
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Ability to float seamlessly to comparable units
- Ability to work in a Level II NICU environment
- Strong clinical skills in neonatal care and patient management
Other Requirements
- Must be willing to travel to New Jersey for the duration of the contract
- Shifts available: Days (7a-7p) & Nights (7p-7a)
- Travel assignment duration: 13 weeks
- Candidates must be willing to float to similar units if required
