Title: Correctional Officer Assistant
Location: Remote Swamp-Based Facility, Florida
Deployment: 8 Weeks Onsite | 2 Weeks Off | Housing + Meals Provided
We are staffing a secure detention facility in a remote region of Florida. We’re looking for Corrections Officer Assistants ready to deploy and operate in a structured, high-security environment.
This is a boots-on-the-ground mission, not a desk job. You’ll be part of a rotational deployment with full housing and meals. If you’re disciplined, reliable, and want to make a difference, we want you.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with facility operations under the direction of senior corrections staff
- Monitor and report activity within housing units, intake areas, or common spaces
- Support movement and accountability of detainees within secure areas
- Perform perimeter checks, equipment inspections, and basic security tasks
- Complete logs, shift reports, and incident forms as needed
- Maintain professionalism and situational awareness at all times
- Enforce facility rules, regulations, and safety protocols
- Provide support during emergencies and drills
Qualifications:
- Must have an active State Security Certification
- Ability to work 12–14 hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physically and mentally fit for duty in an operational environment
- Strong communication skills and command presence
- Must pass background screening and drug test
- Must complete and pass all portions of CRS’s Federal Detention Officer Certification Program (FDOCP). This is a structured training course designed to ensure all prospective officers possess the physical capability, mental discipline, and professional mindset necessary to perform the essential duties of a Federal Detention Officer. All trainees must complete every physical and cognitive training requirement to remain in good standing within the Federal Detention Officer Certification Program.
Failure to complete any portion of the program—academic, physical, or tactical—will result in non-certification and may result in termination or removal from employment consideration.
Requirements include:
Physical Fitness Standards including but not limited to:
- Calisthenics
- Jogging, running and/or walking exercises
- Bending, Kneeling and controlled ground movements
- Lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds
- Completion of the Physical Abilities Course within the established time and safety parameters
Defense Tactics and Standards: This portion focuses on personal protection, controlled subject management, and approved response techniques to ensure the safety of both staff and detainees.
- Cognitive & Mindset Standards
- Federal Detention Officers must possess a disciplined, alert, and professional mindset, capable of making sound decisions under pressure. Applicants are evaluated throughout the program on the following cognitive and behavioral criteria:
- Ability to process and retain critical information
- Situational awareness and sound judgment under stress
- Ethical reasoning and adherence to federal detention standards
- Professional communication and teamwork
- Adaptability and calmness during simulated crisis scenarios
- Ability to learn and apply policy, safety protocols, and operational directives
- Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in all scholastic portions of the Federal Detention Officer Program. Evaluation will be based on classroom participation, written assessments, and demonstrated understanding during on-the-job observation.

Pay: $25.00 (Approximately $2650/wk or $110,240 annually)
Shift availability: 12-14 hour shifts, 7 days per week for the duration of your rotation
