Job Description
Position Summary
The Development Director is responsible for programmatic aspects of operations in 3 main categories; Community Outreach/Public Relations, Fundraising/Events and Media/Marketing.
Full or Part Time Position (w/Benefits-FT). The position will work both remotely and in office for collaboration and organization with the agency’s administrative team and Board. Candidate must have a valid FL Driver’s License and be able to travel throughout Monroe County as needed. Candidate must live in County.
The focus of the position will be to raise awareness of the agency’s programs, activities and needs while inspiring donors to provide support to the organization directly or through fundraising events.
Scope and Impact
This position reports to the CEO for all fundraising activities including donor and public relations, ad development/placement, and development of special events.
Community Relations and Correspondence
- Responsible for Donor solicitation and development.
- Primary goal is to increase the contributions of individuals and groups to Keys AHEC by building relationships and exploring new fundraising opportunities from various sources
- Work to raise awareness of the agency's work, goals and accomplishments.
- Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporate/private/public foundations and individual donors
- Maintain foundation, corporation, and individual donor files
- CRM
- The ability to network is paramount for this job since success in the role depends heavily on being able to forge new and existing positive relationships with supporters and donors.
- Work with the CEO and/or Board to meet with individuals and/or organizations.
Fundraising and Events
- Create and Direct, from idea to execution, fundraising events in a safe, healthy and fun environment
- Continually update and correct database records
- Coordinate production of informational reports, support cards, appeal letters, online donation requests and other as developed
- Maintain guest lists, gather, and prepare registration materials and other duties as assigned for fund-raising events
- Coordinate and Direct volunteers and participants
- Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence
- Create monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed.
- Track tax credit donations in the database and keep a file for each tax credit donor
- Send appropriate documentation to process credits to donors
- Assistance in Grant Writing, Contracting and Reporting
- Identify high net income/worth donors for solicitation.
- Identify community entities that may support the agency through donations and/or grants.
Media and Marketing
- Generate a strategic marketing campaign plan.
- Prepare media materials for distribution. (i.e., copying, filing, mailing, e- mailing)
- Content creation including Videography, Photography, Design, Social Media and other mixed media
- Maintain creative direction of content and social media to represent the work, goals and accomplishments of Keys AHEC (incl. ads, flyers, posters, videos, website, social media engagement, language and marketing).
- Produce and Prepare (or source) media materials for distribution
- Assemble media and donor kits for events and meetings.
- Research and development for new ways to fund Keys AHEC
Preparation and Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. (Preferred)
- A minimum of three years' experience in a related programmatic/administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit development related professional position
- Proficiency in related computer software, Design software and Database Management platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Agency workplan and goals/objectives to follow. Salary plus incentive based on performance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Experience:
