Job Title: Middle School Math and Science Teacher
Start Date: August 21, 2024
Hours Per Week: Full-time position, 7:45am-4:00pm Monday-Thursday; 7:45 am-3:00 pm on Friday.
Salary: 50,000 - 70,000 per year; Commensurate with work and educational experience
Reports to Head of School, Mr. Jerome Murphy and Assistant Head of School, Mrs. Jaren Evans
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree REQUIRED; Master’s degree preferred;
- Experience teaching math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry) and science in sixth through eighth grade;
- Oral and written fluency in English REQUIRED ;
- Current Local residence (South Florida) REQUIRED;
- Possesses excellent organizational and communication skills;
- Works collegially and collaboratively with colleagues;
- Background check and fingerprinting required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides student-centered math and science instruction that is grade and age appropriate;
- Maintains a nurturing and supportive environment in the classroom that promotes genuine connections with each student;
- Communicates effectively and regularly with parents and teachers in support of each student’s development and growth;
- Supports and maintains all established routines and procedures of the school;
- Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which teachers are subject and which good teaching practices dictate;
- Attends faculty meetings, parent meetings, educational workshops, training, and professional development opportunities, etc.;
- Performs other duties as determined by the Head of School and Assistant Head of School.
