Job Description: Spanish Teacher
Primary Purpose
MICMS is currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Spanish Teacher to join our outstanding faculty of teachers. The ideal candidate will collaboration with other colleagues and promote understanding and communication in a diverse learning and cultural environment. The Spanish Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an understanding and appreciation for all aspects of the Spanish language including, but not limited to, speaking, reading, writing, listening, and cultural knowledge of the different Spanish speaking countries. Essential Functions
· Teach knowledge and skills in Spanish including; reading, speaking, listening, and writing
· Provide instruction by which students develop an appreciation for the different cultures of Spanish speaking countries
· Know the fundamentals of teaching a second language
· Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and language abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities
· Evaluate each student’s performance and growth in language and cultural understandings, and prepare progress reports
· Communicate with parents and school counselors on pupil progress
· Develops a climate and culture of openness, fairness, mutual respect, support, and inquiry.
· Maintains attendance, weekly grades and other required records.
· Maintains a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by modeling expected behavior and standards, promoting positive interactions and quickly addressing behaviors that are not in line with the school discipline plan.
· Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
· Bachelor’s Degree from a fully accredited educational institution.
· Possession of, or eligibility for, a Florida teaching certificate for the level and subject area to be taught.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $54,500.00 - $63,400.00 per year
