Job Description:
The primary function of this position is to perform specialized office and administrative work within the department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assists in budget preparation and monitoring expenditures.

Composes correspondence for review and signature.

Maintains paper and electronic files, copies, scans documents; composes and responds to emails; and transcribes minutes.

Assists road crew with personnel and timekeeping tasks.

Processes invoices, purchase orders, and requests to purchase.

Assists with preparation of agenda items, Solicitation documents, and other project documents

Enters invoices into appropriate work order in work order system.

Creates requests for new suppliers for department needs.

Answers telephone and greets public.

Maintains office stock supplies.

Distributes incoming and outgoing mail for office.

Performs asset management daily work order input.

Performs other related job duties as assigned.

In the event of special, emergency, or disaster situations, employee may be required to work schedules other than those for which they are regularly scheduled in any capacity deemed appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Vocational or Technical School. 3 years minimum of prior related work experience.

Ability to work from a general outline of duties and responsibilities.

Ability to perform entry-level professional work including basic data analysis and synthesis, report creation, process performance, and regulatory or compliance activities; knowledge of statistics, operations analysis, or forecasting.

Ability to work with more than ten coworkers who mostly engage in the same activities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is sedentary and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. The amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.

Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.

Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.

Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

Handling: Picking, holding, or otherwise working, primarily with the whole hand.

Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound.

Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. Occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
