Duties
The TEKsystems Team supports the United States Navy in their goal of providing reliable and secure information services to their shore-based networks. TEKsystems has an opening for a Communications Network Engineer Mid supporting a government customer on site in Key West, Florida. Qualified candidates must have an active Secret clearance, 4 years of experience in Cisco networking, and an active CompTIA Security+Ce. Must be able to obtain CCNA within 6 months. Overview of Duties:
- Respond to maintenance tickets for layer 1 – 3 issues, hardware installations of new and upgraded routers, switches, McAfee intrusion prevention systems, wireless controllers, Riverbed Steelhead WANX’s, device configurations and reconfigurations, and LAN/WAN outage recovery.
- Troubleshoot outages and resolve network related issues.
- Install and upgrade network devices and components. This includes switches, routers, and network monitoring devices.
- Expected to understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures. Performed escalation and additional tasks as directed.
- Investigated, resolved, documented, and reported the cause and corrective actions in the Incident Management System for all incidents assigned by the Service Desk. Top Skills:

- Configuration, Install, and Troubleshooting Experience with Network Devices (Routers, Switches, Network Monitoring)
- Operational Support of LAN/WAN environments
- Ability to obtain CCNA within 6 months *Required* Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable in the field of Ethernet and IP data engineering with 4 plus years’ experience as a Network Administrator
- Position requires a high level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages
- Experience must include operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling in a large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environment

- This position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) or the ability to be obtain an (Interim Secret, Interim Top Secret)
