Position Title: Outside Plant (OSP)/Fiber - Talent Pipeline

Job Description:
We are gearing up for major Outside Plant (OSP) and Fiber Optic projects and are looking to build a pipeline of talented individuals who have experience in this field. Join us as we work on exciting infrastructure build-out projects and take your career to the next level!

Key Responsibilities:

Design:

Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess current infrastructure and geographic considerations.
Develop detailed engineering plans and network designs, such as blueprints for cable routes, splice points, and equipment placement.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local authorities and property owners.

Fielding:

Conduct detailed field investigations to gather critical data for design and construction planning.
Mark and document utility locations, cable routes, and potential obstructions.
Work closely with the design team to provide accurate field data and ensure alignment with project specifications.
Update field maps and records to reflect current network configurations and infrastructure.

Construction:

Perform trenching, boring, and conduit installation for underground fiber optic cables.
Install fiber optic cables on utility poles for aerial deployment.
Pull and blow fiber optic cables through conduits and ducts.

Installation:

Splice and terminate fiber optic cables in both aerial and underground environments.
Install and configure necessary equipment such as OLTs, splitters, and NIDs.
Conduct testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks using OTDR and other testing equipment.
Document the installation process, including as-built diagrams and test results.

Maintenance:

Conduct routine inspections to ensure the integrity of the fiber optic network.
Perform repairs on damaged cables or equipment and upgrade network components as needed.
Use network monitoring tools to continuously monitor performance and health of the network.
Respond promptly to network outages or failures to restore service.

Project Management:

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in outside plant construction, fiber optic installation, or related field.
Proficiency with fiber optic splicing and testing equipment.
Understanding of construction standards, fiber optic installation techniques, and industry best practices.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project plans.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
