Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cooker Operator to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and kitchen operations, with experience in fine dining, catering, or food service environments. This role involves preparing and cooking meals according to established menus and safety standards, ensuring high-quality food production for our clients. The Cooker Operator will play a vital role in maintaining efficient kitchen workflows and delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

Prepare ingredients and cook meals following recipes and menu specifications
Operate cooking equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, stoves, and specialized kitchen appliances
Assist with menu planning and meal presentation to ensure appealing and nutritious dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards
Handle food with proper hygiene practices, including food handling and storage procedures
Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food as required
Ensure all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and quality standards
Collaborate with dietary department staff to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions
Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurant or catering settings
Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
Experience with menu planning, food presentation, and fine dining standards is preferred
Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food quality and cleanliness
Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment
Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus for accommodating special diets
