Description:
As the Business Manager, you are an integral part of the Sales Team and the critical link to the Back Office for all sales deal paperwork. This position requires you to work closely with the Sales Department to secure financing approvals, prepare necessary documentation, and guide customers through the closing process for boat purchases. Additionally, you will play a leadership role in supporting the Sales Team by providing training, guidance, and strategies to drive ancillary product sales and maximize profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance & Insurance Duties:
- Collaborate with the Sales Department to review and ensure paperwork accuracy and completeness before submission to lender partners.
- Secure financing approvals, even in challenging cases, by maintaining strong lender relationships.
- Conduct customer closings, ensuring all necessary documents are accurate, signed, and compliant with bank and state regulations.
- Convert cash buyers to finance buyers by effectively presenting financing options.
- Sell extended parts & labor agreements (VSC), GAP coverage, Roadside Plus, Multi-Seal, and Marine Appearance products to generate additional revenue.
- Provide clear and professional explanations of finance products and manufacturer warranties to customers.
- Maintain established PVR (per vehicle retailed) benchmarks to meet or exceed finance office revenue goals.
Sales Management Support:
- Partner with the Sales Team to identify opportunities for converting cash buyers to finance options and upselling ancillary products.
- Train and mentor Sales Team members on finance products, compliance processes, and effective customer presentations.
- Collaborate with the General Sales Manager to implement strategies that enhance sales performance and customer satisfaction.
- Support the team in achieving dealership sales goals by fostering a high-performing, customer-focused environment.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Issue tags using the state tag system and manage tax collection/remittance for out-of-state transactions as required.
- Ensure titles for trade-ins are clear and inspected with managerial approval before closings.
- Organize, wash, and submit deals within 24 hours of delivery to ensure compliance and timely funding within 5 business days.
- Prepare monthly sales commission reports and submit them to the Finance Director for payroll processing.
- Adhere to Boater’s World policy guidelines for lender relations, compliance, and deal management.
- Utilize a comprehensive F&I deal checklist to ensure every transaction is accurate, complete, and signed off.
Requirements:
You will be evaluated primarily based on performance standards that measure the following activities:
- 3 years of experience of Finance & Insurance experience in marine or automobile dealership.
- Sales management experience preferred.
- Ability to get deals structured & approved with Lender partners
- Timeliness of getting deals approved and responses to the sales team.
- Thoroughness of deals as per checklists
- Adherence to contract washing and funding policy
- Ensure no tag or title transfers take more than 30 days
- Established minimum ($3,500.00) PVR goal achievement
- You will also be evaluated on other factors, such as good attendance, positive attitude, and teamwork
