Lee County is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven professional to join our Veterans Services team. This position provides vital clerical and administrative support to veterans and their dependents, helping them access the benefits and services they are entitled to under federal and state laws. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Veterans Service Manager or Veterans Service Officer, in accordance with applicable statutes, regulations, and departmental policies.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provide administrative and clerical assistance to veterans and their dependents regarding benefits and rights under federal and state statutes.Consult with and advise clients seeking veterans’ benefits through federal and state programs.Research and interpret statutes, regulations, program guidelines, and medical documentation relevant to veterans’ benefits.Collect and analyze data; calculate income and eligibility for benefits.Respond to public inquiries in person, by phone, or in writing.Attend trainings and maintain current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.Prepare and maintain appointment calendars; schedule client meetings.Research, compile, and generate reports using various sources.Enter and retrieve data using VA and department databases.Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
