Schedule: 5-day work week which would include weekends. Flexible working evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
Estimated Annual Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000 (negotiable based on experience)
Position Overview
A private household seeks to hire a Household Assistant / Junior Houseman to provide day-to-day support in maintaining an organized, welcoming, and well-functioning home. Reporting to the Estate Manager, the ideal candidate is service-minded, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a professional demeanor and a willingness to take initiative. This hands-on role includes errands, driving, light cleaning, vendor coordination, and occasional event or guest support.
This role is ideal for someone with Hotel Concierge experience or junior houseman or junior personal assistant support looking to grow with an established household team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain household cleanliness and organization in assigned areas; ensure all spaces are guest-ready
- Handle light housekeeping tasks and occasional butler-style service (e.g., maintaining sports equipment)
- Monitor and restock household supplies, beverages, and amenities
- Receive deliveries and manage mail, packages, and inventory tracking
- Run errands such as grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and vendor pickups
- Drive principals, family members, or guests to appointments, airports, and events; maintain professionalism and discretion
- Keep household vehicles clean, fueled, and serviced
- Provide light administrative support, such as scheduling vendors or tracking receipts
- Greet and escort vendors or contractors, ensuring property protection and cleanup after visits
- Report maintenance or repair issues promptly to the Estate Manager
- Assist with setup for meals, meetings, and events
- Welcome guests, handle luggage, and help coordinate transportation and room setup
- Keep indoor and outdoor areas tidy and organized daily
- Support seasonal or hurricane preparation as needed
- Maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times
Qualifications
- Experience in private service, hospitality, hotel or luxury residential settings preferred
- Clean driving record and confidence driving luxury vehicles (sedans, SUVs, sprinters)
- Strong attention to detail, discretion, and reliability
- Professional appearance, excellent communication, and customer service skills
- Comfortable working around pets, guests, and vendors
- Working knowledge of household systems and technology a plus
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and occasional travel
- Valid US Work Authorization
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Comfortable driving luxury vehicles (sedans, SUVs, or sprinters).
