Job Summary
Bostic Steel is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Detailer to join our team. This role is responsible for producing accurate and detailed drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous metals, supporting both shop fabrication and field installation.
The ideal candidate has strong industry experience, a solid understanding of steel structures, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review sketches, drawings, specifications, and engineering data from architects and structural engineers
- Produce detailed drawings for:
- Steel stairs
- Railings
- Structural steel components
- Connections and miscellaneous metals
- Prepare and finalize drawings for shop fabrication and field installation
- Update and maintain drawings using AutoCAD
- Apply project specifications to all designs
- Coordinate assignments with the Department Head
- Review and verify design accuracy
- Maintain proper documentation and submit required reports
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of drafting experience in the miscellaneous metals or structural steel industry
- Strong knowledge of steel structures, components, and shapes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints

- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
- Professional attitude with a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
Work Environment & Schedule
- Office-based position
- No travel required
