Family owned and operated for over 31 years, Rock Reef Resort accommodations offer island-style décor, highlighting the laid back lifestyle along with clean comfortable rooms. We off a variety of standard, deluxe, efficiencies, family suites, hibiscus room, water view suites, a beach front cottage and a beach front bungalow. Some rooms have fully equipped kitchens to accommodate singles, families, intimate weddings, family reunions and other gatherings. All rooms are fully air conditioned/heated with cable, flat screen TV, hair dryer, microwave, coffee maker with complimentary coffee. All kitchen units are sold as housekeeping units.
Rock Reef Resort is a convenient base for fishing, diving and exploring the attractions of Key Largo and the Everglades. Restaurants and shopping are within walking distance.
The Front Desk Agents are responsible for greeting and registering the guest while providing superior guest service, with a friendly and helpful attitude, along with a genuine smile. This position includes answering phones, checking guests in/out, booking reservations, accepting cash/card for purchases and services, checking rooms/beachfront property, handing out kayaks/paddleboat, and much more!
Rock Reef Resort is a 21 unit property. The hotel is open 365 days a year. The candidate must be available for weekends and holidays. Office hours are now daily from 9am - 8pm. May be extended until 9pm with a 6-8 hour per work shift. The candidate must be available for any scheduled shifts within those hours.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be detail-oriented with the ability to work well under pressure and maintain a professional work area. Must possess a mastery of guest service, organizational, self-motivational skills and able to solve any problems that may arise while maintaining a positive interaction with the guest.
Computer skills to include Windows, MS Office, Outlook, Excel and Cloudbeds reservation system. (Will train)
BASIC PURPOSE: Check-in and check-out guests and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
1. Handle guest registration and room assignments, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
2. Pre-register, block reservations and take same day reservations and when necessary future reservation following hotel rate structures, discounts, and sell strategies.
3. Handle guest check-ins/check-outs in accordance with hotel credit/cash handling policies in an efficient and friendly manner.
4. Resolve guest complaints; assist customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, in-house events, directions, local attractions, check cashing, lock box, etc.
5. Cancel room reservations according to procedures.
6. Complete shift checklist in efficient manner.
7. Handle and maintain cash drawers.
8. Inspect all rooms before the guests check-in.
9. Work closely with Room Attendants/Housekeepers & Houseman.
10. Help out with the laundry.
Hours required: 6-8-hour shift; Scheduled days and times may vary based on need.
EXPERIENCE: In Hospitality/Tourism in the front office of a hotel, and/or resort is preferred.
LANGUAGE: Must be able to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English. Spanish is a PLUS.
