Project Supervisor - Site Monitoring & Inspections
Summary/Objective:
The Project Supervisor - Site Monitoring & Inspections will work as a liaison between Waymore project staff, Client project staff, subcontractors and vendors to facilitate safe and efficient project delivery within the contracted scopes, timelines, and budgets. This team member will ensure all assigned projects are allocated the correct resources to meet and exceed timelines, to ensure safe working conditions are maintained and exceptional quality work is being performed on all sites with the goal of exceeding Client expectations on each project. This position will require travel, primarily throughout Florida, in order to regularly visit and oversee multiple concurrent projects. Our home office is located in LaBelle, Florida.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures the success and efficiency of project delivery by working as the liaison between Waymore staff, subcontractors, vendors, and Client representatives throughout the full life cycle of projects.
- Researches and understands the full scope of work, timeline, and requirements of each project.
- Coordinates and monitors the work of Waymore direct hires and subcontractors, providing the guidance and resources to safely, successfully and efficiently complete the scope of work.
- Create, update, and/or maintain a variety of project controls that track the status of individual projects or tasks, changes to projects or task orders, RFI, shop drawings and submittal matters involving quality controls, safety, close-out and other aspects of projects.
- Establish, monitor, communicate and maintain project schedules. Update Waymore Project Management with all provided "look-ahead" schedules to ensure materials are ordered and arrive to site on time.
- Communicate project needs to Waymore Project Management to ensure timely procurement of all resources.
- Manages proper allocation of resources across multiple projects, including labor, material and equipment.
- Collects and reports accurate records of completed work and materials usage on each project.
- Maintains inventory of all resources on each project and provides reports to Waymore Project Management to support project accounting.
- Assists in financial reporting and budget management on projects as requested.
- Proactively identifies issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions.
- Ensures that project staff are performing routine cleaning, inspection and preventative maintenance on all equipment, and reporting defects.
- Schedules the repair of equipment as needed.
- Oversee safety and risk management on job sites.
- Participate in staff or jobsite meetings as requested.
- Demonstrates exceptional time management.
- Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks appropriately.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all Waymore employees, Client staff, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Communicates professionally and effectively with Waymore project staff, Client project staff, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Reads, listens to and follows plans, material lists and guidelines to complete work in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, taking every precaution to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property.
- Provides leadership and guidance to ensure project staff are following all safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Works both independently and collaboratively on job sites.
- Wears proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for each job and ensures all Waymore team members, including subcontractors and vendors, adhere to PPE requirements.
- Follows daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
- Follows all company policies and procedures and safety requirements.
- Follows all client required safety policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must hold a valid Florida driver’s license with an excellent driving record at all times.
Work Environment
- Work will occur in both an office and an outdoor construction site or agricultural environment.
- Requires working in all weather conditions, including very hot (above 90 F degrees) and very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures, and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, rain, snow, etc.
- Requires working in very bright or very dark lighting conditions.
- Exposure to loud, distracting, or uncomfortable sounds and noise levels.
- Work around hazardous equipment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Talk and hear
- Sit for long periods of time and drive on the highway and in rough terrain
- Walk or stand for long periods of time.
- Walk on various types of terrain/ground conditions, including but not limited to rough, uneven, or muddy conditions.
- Bend or twist at head and neck, including looking behind and from side to side.
- Bend or twist at the waist.
- Stand, walk, reach, push and pull, and use hands for grasping, and fine manipulation.
- Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move over 50 pounds.
- Work outside in all weather conditions, including hot, humid conditions for extended periods of time.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Daily computer usage.
Position Type/Schedule
This is a full-time position. Monday-Friday, evening and weekend work may be required.
Travel
Flexibility to travel to and work on projects throughout the southeastern United States, primarily in Florida is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of construction project coordination or management.
- Understanding of the principles, practices, tools, supplies, materials, equipment, and personnel required for civil construction projects.
- Understanding of cost estimating, maintenance methods, and techniques.
- Ability to read project plans to determine amount and type of resources required.
- Ability to read and understand contracts.
- Ability to plan, direct, and supervise work of skilled and unskilled employees.
- Possess a strong work ethic.
- Exemplary judgement and discretion.
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail orientated.
- Ability to submit and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Bilingual is a plus.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks appropriately and maintain a positive attitude in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated computer and technology skills in area of assignment, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word & Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth, Google Workplace (G Suite), smartphones, email and document management.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License and excellent driving record. (Class A CDL preferred.)
- Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements which may include any or all of the following: criminal/civil background check, motor vehicle record search, pre-employment drug screen in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous fire safety training or firefighter experience.
- Electrical knowledge.
- OSHA 30 certification.
