Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the clinical instruction of SVM students in Junior Surgery and Anaesthesia Lab and in a variety of clinical courses, including Introduction to Surgical Skills and Veterinary Physical Diagnosis.
- Participation in pre- and post-surgical rounds.
- Assessment of student’s clinical performance and medical record writing
- Clinical instruction of the examination of a variety of organ systems and methods of evaluation of these systems that are used in general practice.
- Participate in student assessments.
- Facilitate small group discussions with simulated clients.
- Mentor and guide veterinary students in their clinical skills development, particularly in anaesthetic practices.
- Develop and contribute to extension and continuing education programs, in collaboration with other departments and/or other schools.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum and educational resources.
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment.
The successful candidate will also be required to participate in the following:
- Departmental Reviews (when required)
- Faculty Meetings (when required)
- Special Committee Assignments (as assigned by the Dean)
- Outreach efforts in the local community
- Faculty Senate
- Other duties as determined by the Department Chair and/or the Dean

Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified veterinarian with a strong background in small animal medicine and anaesthesiology.
- The successful candidate will have completed internships in the relevant disciplines
- Previous lecturing or teaching experience is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to nurturing the next generation of veterinary professionals.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
