Overview:
HCA Florida Largo Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a travel assignment in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). This is a 13-week contract with a 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM shift and includes a variable on-call schedule. The CST will be expected to work every other weekend and major holidays in rotation with hospital employees. The position requires flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field during cardiovascular surgical procedures.
- Ensure proper handling, passing, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring they are in a safe and sterile environment.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical personnel to provide optimal patient care.
- Monitor the surgical environment for safety and cleanliness throughout the procedure.
- Manage surgical instruments, anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
- Provide support in emergency situations with a high level of professionalism and expertise.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of surgical tech experience, with a focus on cardiovascular procedures preferred.
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
- Skills:
- Proficient knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and instruments.
- Ability to maintain a sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Additional Information:
- Parking: Free parking is available in the garage on the third and fourth floors for both AM and PM shifts.
- Rotation: The travel CST will be required to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.
