Job Overview
The Marine Construction position involves working on various projects assisting operators with installing seawalls, pilings, bulk heads, rip rap shoreline stabilization etc. This role requires a combination of technical skills and hands-on experience to ensure the successful installation, and building of residential and commercial docks and seawalls. Candidates should be prepared to work in diverse environments, form a barge and around heavy machinery and crane where safety is a priority. This position does require teamwork and effective communication with colleagues and crew leaders.
Responsibilities
- Rough carpentry - assembly of jigs used for seawall templates. Manual demo work requiring use of jack hammers, concrete saws, sledge hammers.
- Rig equipment and materials for safe transportation and installation.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to perform construction tasks.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance to ensure all equipment is operational.
- Use precision measuring tools such as transits and laser levels for quality control.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding project progress and addressing any concerns.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed on-site.
Skills
- Experience installing pilings and seawalls
- Machine operating experience is a plus but not required
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to marine construction.
- Experience in rough carpentry
- Familiarity with rigging practices and safety standards.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices to keep all operational equipment in good condition.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
