Land Based Coral Farm - Aquarist Position
Ocean Aquatica operates a Florida state licensed aquaculture facility in Marathon Florida specializing in coral propagation for the aquarum trade.
We are looking for a few team members who are hardworking, interested in learning about coral propagation, system maintenance, care and health of livestock and can work independently and at a fast pace. Must be able to take direction and work independently.

Overview of Position:
The aquarist position will be responsible for every aspect of animal care. The duties include but are not limited to: aquarium husbandry, water quality sampling and testing, inventory control, cutting coral and packing orders, and recognition and treatment of diseases and other related problems.
Reporting directly to the operations manager, this is a part-time position at one of the nation’s largest coral farms. The abilities to work with minimal supervision and to be flexible are extremely important. Must have an eye for detail and the ability to communicate well. This is an outdoor job in the Florida Keys and we work under a variety of weather conditions. Must be able to work outdoors in hot humid environment.

- Responsible for general care and feeding of Coral, Fish, and Inverts
- Coral Propagation
- Water testing and monitoring
- Miscellaneous holding system maintenance and cleaning duties
- Flexible Schedule (approx 15-20 hours plus)
- Qualifications
- Strong interest in corals and marine invertebrates
- Strong work ethic
- Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills
- Able to lift 70 lb. boxes
