JOB DESCRIPTION:
Objective:
- Perform all duties in clearing right-of-way, trimming trees, and other work necessary to keep right-of-way in condition so that service is not affected by tree growth, bushes, etc.
- Perform the same duties in connection with service drops.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work as a member of the right-of-way crew in clearing right-of-way and service lines by trimming or cutting down trees, bushes, etc.
- Maintain line/service throughout FKEC territory.
- Must be knowledgeable of locations of septic tanks, water lines, etc., when setting up to perform work.
- Must be knowledgeable of locations of power lines, cable lines, phone lines, etc., and any other obstructions such as overhangs or balconies, when delivering mulch to residences to assure safety and to prevent damage to property.
- Skilled in determining tree/limb falling to ensure the safety of property, people, and FKEC equipment.
- Clean up the work site when the job is complete. This requires that all tree branches must be relocated from work site and fee into the chipper.
- Must be knowledgeable of operating various machinery, equipment, and vehicles required to perform duties.
- Must be knowledgeable of bucket truck lower controls to facilitate bucket rescue.
- Must be able to cut trees from a bucket truck and obtain FKEC certification for working out of a bucket.
- Ensure public and fellow crew members' safety at all times, including traffic control.
- Ensure safety rules and requirements are followed.
- Knowledge in the proper use of various chemicals used in weed/brush control.
- Responsible for notifying the warehouse when the material is removed or retired on the job.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Training and Experience: This is an entry-level position. Must complete the FKEC Right-of-Way Training. Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Must obtain FKEC certification to work out of a bucket truck.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a valid Class A CDL Florida Driver's License.
- Must use cybersecurity best practices and use responsible conduct in online environments and while using email.
- Observe and practice all safety policies and rules.
- Extra hours may be necessary during emergencies or when the workload demands.
- Residency Requirement: The worker for this position is not required to live with the FKEC service territory, but it is highly recommended.

Working Conditions: Position requires heavy lifting which is defined as 100 pounds, awkward work positions and exposure to many adverse elements of weather conditions. Other physical demands are the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must have the ability to give and receive detailed information through oral and written communication. Must be able to work from a bucket at various heights; therefore, must not have a fear of heights.
