Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This role is essential to day-to-day operations and plays a direct part in ensuring a positive experience for staff, tenants, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, follows safety protocols, and works efficiently either independently or as part of a team. Position is for evening hours, after 4pm: Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain floors, surfaces, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate tools and cleaning products
- Perform routine custodial duties including trash removal, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and polishers as needed
- Restock supplies in restrooms and common areas
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or repair needs to management
- Follow all safety guidelines and cleaning procedures to maintain a hazard-free environment
- Assist with light maintenance or special cleaning projects when needed
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial, custodial, or cleaning experience preferred (commercial, industrial, or residential)
- Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, including floor care and sanitation practices
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet cleaning schedules
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks during shifts
