Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, determined, and enthusiastic Marina Store Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. This position requires strong communication skills, a customer-oriented mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members. As a Store Clerk, the duties and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited, to the following:
Duties
- Maintain the appearance and safety of the store. (cleanness, price on items, etc)
- Full knowledge of POS System to perform customer sales transactions.
- Always maintain a positive attitude with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Properly check in all vendors’ deliveries to ensure accuracy of received merchandise, if received when on duty.
- Perform inventory of received items.
- Perform daily inventory readings to ensure they match the computer. If they do not match inform the supervisor.
- Maintain register and cash drawer. Perform daily register sales reports upon completion of shift submitting to the management office.
- Ordering and maintaining store inventory, rotation of self-items, removing expired items from shelves or stock.
- Make sure the cash drawer is ready for the next day.
- Communication with the office on a regular basis for needed store supplies (office supplies) such as, copy paper, ribbon, register tape, printer ink, labels, etc.
- Occasional lifting of heavy materials/merchandise and handling of live shrimp is required.
- Assistance at the gas pumps and assisting docking boats at the fuel tanks may be necessary on occasion.
- Replacement of gas lines and boat tie ropes throughout shift to maintain cleanliness and eliminate any liability on boat dock.
- Full understanding of Marina Store products and layout to provide best service.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with cash register operations and basic math skills is beneficial.
- Experience in stock management or merchandising is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse customers.
- A collaborative attitude towards teamwork and willingness to learn new skills.
- Bilingual is preferred but not mandatory.
