Our Company is seeking an experienced Director of Construction to lead field operations across a growing portfolio of construction projects. In this role, you'll oversee project execution from groundbreaking to closeout while ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to the quality standards our clients expect. You'll work closely with project management, estimating, and ownership to keep projects on track and resolve field-level challenges before they become costly delays.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Direct project management teams from initial planning and budgeting through final inspections and close-out, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
- Review and approve budget estimates, track project costs, monitor forecasts, and update schedules to mitigate potential delays and avoid cost overruns.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of owner and subcontractor pay applications, ensuring accurate billing, proper supporting documentation, timely collections, and effective cash flow management.
- Monitor project financial performance, including cost reports, committed costs, change orders, revenue projections, and profitability.
- Train, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Superintendents while promoting accountability and high performance.
- Assist in managing the bidding and buyout process, evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and approve change orders.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing innovative construction methods, technologies, and best practices.
- Oversee site safety programs and ensure compliance with local building codes, permitting requirements, OSHA standards, and Environmental, Health & Safety regulations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between field operations, project teams, clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project documentation standards, insurance requirements, permitting obligations, and closeout procedures.
- Lead dispute resolution efforts and proactively address project risks, schedule impacts, and cost exposure.
- Provide executive-level reporting on project status, financial performance, staffing needs, and operational initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction Management or a related field equivalent qualification.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in commercial, multifamily, government, or industrial construction management, including leadership of multiple concurrent projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing project managers, superintendents, and large construction teams on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, contract administration, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Experience managing pay applications, WIP reporting, cash flow forecasting, project buyouts, and financial performance metrics.
- Demonstrated success in subcontractor negotiations, procurement, and dispute resolution.
- Extensive knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, OSHA regulations, and construction safety practices.
- Proficiency with construction management, scheduling, and MS software (Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-driven mindset.
Pay: $135,000.00 - $148,000.00 per year
