We are seeking a seasoned Medical Front Desk Coordinator to join our growing dermatology practice. This position is ideal for an experienced healthcare professional who is confident managing a busy front office, provides exceptional patient service, and understands that the front desk plays a critical role in both the patient experience and the overall success of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist patients while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment
- Manage patient check-in and check-out efficiently and accurately
- Answer and manage a high volume of incoming telephone calls
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Collect copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and patient balances
- Obtain and maintain required patient forms, identification, insurance cards, and documentation
- Understand insurance eligibility, referrals, and authorization requirements
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding scheduling and patient needs
- Monitor schedules and proactively address cancellations, openings, and scheduling concerns
- Maintain accurate information within the electronic health record (EHR)
- Handle patient questions and concerns professionally and with discretion
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
- Assist with additional administrative and front-office responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of recent medical front desk experience strongly preferred
- Previous dermatology office experience is a PLUS
- Experience in a busy physician practice or specialty medical office
- Strong understanding of medical insurance, eligibility verification, copays, deductibles, referrals, and authorizations
- Experience working with an EHR/practice management system
- Excellent telephone etiquette and patient service skills
- Strong computer and data-entry skills
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
- Dependable, punctual, and accountable
- Comfortable communicating with patients, physicians, clinical staff, and outside organizations
- Able to recognize what needs to be done and take initiative without requiring constant direction
