Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant
Position Overview:
Keys Animal ER at Cruz Animal Hospital is seeking a caring and dependable Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our team. In this role, you’ll work alongside our veterinarians and experienced technicians to provide high-quality care to our patients and excellent service to our clients. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures.
- Prepare patients and equipment for surgery or diagnostic testing.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed.
- Perform basic lab work such as running bloodwork, fecals, and urinalysis.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during restraint, exams, and procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized, and stocked treatment areas.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients about their pet’s care.
- Support the overall flow of the hospital to ensure efficient patient care.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic (technician or assistant role).
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills.
- Familiarity with common veterinary terminology, procedures, and equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a busy environment.
- Positive, dependable, and compassionate attitude.
Schedule:
Full-time daytime position, Monday through Friday with rotating weekends.
