Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge of the organization, functions and operation of · the station, higher echelon commands and their relationship to other federal activities and private industry.
- Knowledge of a variety of principles, concepts and techniques of marketing, sales, writing, layout and photography.Knowledge of all forms of printed matter promotional vehicles. These include but are not limited to the designing of flyers, posters, banners, newsletters etc.
- Knowledge of administrative support functions to include the use of a personal computer, standard Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access) software programs is required.
- Knowledge of graphic design, desktop publishing, and web design software.
- In-depth knowledge of software that runs on the Internet, including, but not limited to search engines, counters, guest books, browsers, databases, plug-ins, and applets.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must possess the skills needed to write grammatically correct articles and publications.
- Ability to draft sponsorship solicitation letters, packages, proposals and presentations.
- Must possess the passion for learning and staying current with latest web/graphic software, user interface and web technology trends.
- Ability to quickly grasp communication objectives, to summarize them and to develop an appropriate interactive media plan.
- Ability to develop and produce graphic presentations and appropriate publication designs.
- Be self-motivated, able to prioritize, adapt to changes, work on several projects at once and meet critical deadlines.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
