Blue Ocean Yacht Charters in sunny Key West, Florida is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee the day to day charter operations within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, have knowledge of yachts and their systems 40'-100', and experience in managing teams effectively. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and hospitality. The Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely while maintaining high standards of quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of employees including department heads, fostering a positive work environment.
- Oversee daily charter operations
- Utilize marine knowledge to problem solve and implement effective solutions.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor performance metrics and provide regular reports to owners.
- Train and mentor team members, promoting professional development and skill enhancement.
- Collaborate with departments heads to ensure seamless communication and coordination of activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a managerial role, preferably within the marine industry. Hospitality management is also a plus.
- Strong yacht knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems.
- Excellent leadership skills with the capacity to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Applicant can build his or her schedule however must be available on nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
