About Six Fins Charter:
Six Fins Charter is a new and exciting jet ski tour company located at the Perry Hotel and Marina on Stock Island, just outside of Key West, Florida. Our mission is to offer a thrilling and informative tour experience around the beautiful island of Key West. We pride ourselves on safety, customer service, and providing guests with an unforgettable adventure on the water.
Position Overview:
We seek experienced Jet Ski Tour Guides to lead our two-hour guided tours around the island of Key West. As a tour guide, you will be responsible for ensuring that all tours are safe, fun, and informative while delivering exceptional customer service. This position requires someone passionate about water sports, local knowledge of Key West, and a strong understanding of safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead guests on guided jet ski tours around Key West, ensuring an engaging and memorable experience.
- Maintain the highest safety standards by adhering to all safety protocols, including proper operation of the jet skis, guest briefing, and ensuring guests understand safety equipment.
- Provide insightful commentary about Key West, including local landmarks, history, wildlife, and points of interest.
- Ensure guests are properly equipped with life jackets and ensure jet skis are in optimal condition before and after each tour.
- Maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor creates a fun and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
- Monitor guest behavior and performance during tours to ensure safety and enjoyment.
- Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of the jet skis and equipment.
- Work as part of a small team to ensure smooth operations for each tour, including preparing for each departure and coordinating with other staff.
- Assist with the training and development of new guides if needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a jet ski tour guide or similar role in Key West, FL.
- Must be fully versed in all safety protocols related to jet ski operation, water safety, and emergency procedures.
- USCG Captains License a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Key West and the surrounding waters.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and educate guests.
- Must possess a friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
- Must have a valid Florida Boating Safety Card (or willingness to obtain one).
- Must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and on the water for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Schedule:
- Tours are offered 9:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 3:30 PM.
- Must be available to work a minimum of 1 day a week, with some weekend and holiday shifts.
Compensation:
Competitive pay based on experience, plus tips.
