Position Summary:
The Parking/Valet Attendant welcomes guests in a friendly and efficient manner to the hotel; safely parks and secures guest vehicles in our possession, ensuring guests’ needs are handled promptly, efficiently and courteously.
Core Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and ticket vehicles appropriately.
- Ensure a walk around of the vehicle, notating any prior damage.
- Safely navigate guest vehicle to parking location, ensuring the vehicle is secured and locked.
- Tag and secure guest keys in lock box.
- Retrieve guest vehicles for departure in a timely manner.
- Greet all guests arriving and departing the hotel, holding the front doors as they enter and exit.
- Keep the front interior and exterior entrances and surrounding areas clean and free of debris.
- Assist with baggage delivery when necessary.
- Provide guests with knowledge of hotel property, hotel services and hours of operation for all hotel outlets, as well as surrounding dining and entertainment venues.
- Perform other duties as assigned, especially related to assisting guests arriving and departing the hotel.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competences:
- High work ethic and self-initiative
- Proven experience with strong customer service skills
- Regular attendance
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
- Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions
- Ability to drive vans, cars and truck systems, including those with manual transmission
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to provide validation of safe driving record
- Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
Physical Requirements:
- Stand, walk and run for varying lengths of time, often long periods of time
- Lift approximately fifty (50) pounds of guest luggage or supplies on and off a cart, using safe lifting techniques
- Push and pull carts weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with guests and associates, including the abilities to give directions, instructions, information, answer questions and provide service required.
- Work in environments that are often very hot or very cold, for long periods of time.
- Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening and hearing ability and visual ability
