We are actively recruiting for an NDT Inspector to perform non-destructive testing (NDT) on aircraft components and structures within an FAA-certified repair station. The ideal candidate will utilize methods such as eddy current, magnetic particles, penetrant, and ultrasonic testing to detect defects while maintaining part integrity, ensuring airworthiness, and complying with FAA regulations and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Performing NDT inspections: Conducting thorough inspections of aircraft parts using designated NDT techniques, interpreting test results to identify potential defects like cracks, corrosion, or material inconsistencies.
· Maintaining certification: Holding and maintaining a current NDT Level II certification in relevant methods (e.g., Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Penetrant) as required by FAA regulations.
· Adhering to procedures: Following established NDT procedures and work instructions, ensuring proper equipment calibration and documentation of inspection findings.
· Defect reporting: Accurately documenting and reporting any detected defects to the appropriate personnel, recommending necessary repair actions.
· Quality control: Contributing to quality assurance by monitoring NDT processes, identifying potential issues, and ensuring compliance with FAA and company standards.
Specific skills and knowledge needed:
· FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or equivalent experience preferred.
· NDT Level II or Level III certification preferred.
· Thorough understanding of NDT principles, techniques, and limitations for various materials and aircraft components.
· Familiarity with aircraft structures, systems, and maintenance procedures.
· Deep understanding of FAA Part 145 regulations related to NDT inspections and airworthiness requirements.
· Ability to accurately interpret NDT test results and differentiate between acceptable and unacceptable flaws.
· Precise record keeping of inspection findings, including detailed reports and necessary documentation.
