Position Room Service Server
Reporting Relationship Restaurant Manager

Position Summary:
The Room Service Server is responsible for serving food and beverage to customers who choose to
dine in their hotel room, while providing courteous, professional, efficient service and ensuring
customer satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities:
- Set up orders and deliver to rooms within approximately 20-30 minutes.
- Maintain room service station in accordance with sanitation standards at all times.
- Provide courteous and professional phone manners.
- Develop a complete knowledge of menus, dish and glassware service, and utilize that knowledge in
the service of guests as needed.
- Follow proper tray set up for all orders, including silverware, napkins, appropriate condiments,
beverages, any special requests, etc. Check complete food order to ensure all have been set on tray
for delivery.
- Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, maintaining positive guest
relations at all times.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction in each interaction.
- Promptly return check and payment to cashier; call back to guest after 5-10 minutes to see if
meal is satisfactory.
- Develop a complete knowledge of service standards for beer, liquor and wine, complying with
alcohol awareness procedures and complying with all applicable laws.
- Work in a cooperative and friendly manner with fellow associates.
- Practice a culture of guest service in all you do; promote courtesy, good will and a positive
attitude in each and every encounter.
- Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Strong communication skills verbal and written
- High work ethic and self-initiative
- Regular attendance according to established guidelines
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
- Focus and maintain attention to multiple tasks in a short time period, and complete
work assignments within deadline demands, despite frequent interruptions
- Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest
confidentiality at all times
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Lift approximately twenty (20) pounds
- Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening
and hearing ability and visual ability
- Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, ten-key
calculator, printers, multi-line tone tone phone, filing cabinets, photocopiers and other office
equipment as needed
