RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Marina Attendant is responsible for the safe mooring of vessels and general operations of the service docks. Facilitate and assist in coordinating the arrival and departure of vessels. Maintain a safe and clean environment. Act as the initial liaison between customers, dock launch crews, service crews and customer service.
The following are some of the responsibilities of the Marina Attendant:
- Monitor all traffic in the Marina. During your shift, any new boat docking in the Marina is to be greeted.
- Patrol the dock behind the boats and the Boat-Lock-Up area. Record the time of the rounds and any irregularities.
- Responsible for ensuring the docks at the Key Largo Resorts Marina are clean, well maintained and safe for our customers.
- Hoses off the dock when they are dirty, throws away any garbage on or near the docks from passenger vessels or tour boats.
- Makes sure the docks look clean and professional, always remembering that a neater area is more secure and safe than a messy one.
- Security is always a concern and part of this job is looking for unusual activity and or packages around docks. Always be on the lookout for opened or tampered hatches, dock boxes, doors etc.
- Knows the correct way to use a VHF radio and carry handheld VHF on his/her rounds. This person will assist visiting vessels when tying up at our marinas.
- Collect monthly rental from vendors and long-term boaters
- Enforce Dock Policies with all Marina tenants, vendors or otherwise, and adhere to Clean Marina procedures
- Responsible for making reservations for group and transient slips utilizing correct slip dimensions to efficiently maximize revenue
- Perform slip inventory four times during a 24hr period noting any discrepancies between each
- Reconcile visual slip inventories to those counts in OPERA to monitor and verify actual Marina occupancy is correct and current at any given point in time
- Responsible for minimal maintenance of the Marina and dockage as required
