General Description: The Camp Instructor position performs various tasks to provide a safe, fun, nurturing and enriching camp experience for the summer camper. The Camp Instructor will be responsible for planning, supervising, and monitoring the camp's daily activities. The Camp Instructor will work with the Camp Assistant in guiding their campers through the daily engaging activities.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Job Duties: 1. Assume responsibility for the safety of campers. 2. Be familiar with risk management and emergency action plans. 3. Enact risk management and emergency action plans as necessary. 4. Log incident/accident reports as required. 5. Know where campers are at all times. 6. Follow Camp objectives, policies and procedures, and guidelines. 7. Serve as a positive role model and mentor. 8. Show a genuine interest in campers. 9. Plan, organize, and lead various group activities each week that are recreational and educational. 10. Use group management skills to reinforce good behavior and to provide engaging activities. 11. Maintain, clean, and organize program equipment as assigned. 12. Identify and respond to camper behavior issues. 13. Communicate with Director camper issues as they arise. 14. Work cooperatively with Camp Assistants, Camp instructors, and College Staff. 15. Other duties as assigned by the Director and College Staff.
