We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Marina Forklift Driver to join our team in Key West. This role is responsible for the safe handling, launching, hauling, and storage of vessels using marina forklifts and related equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and committed to providing excellent service to boat owners and marina guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate marina forklifts to safely move, launch, and retrieve vessels
- Position boats in racks and designated storage areas
- Inspect forklifts and equipment daily and report maintenance needs
- Assist with dock operations and general marina support as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and marina operating standards
- Communicate clearly with dock staff and customers during vessel handling
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with basic marina upkeep and facility tasks
Qualifications:
- Prior forklift or heavy equipment experience preferred (marine experience a plus)
- Ability to work safely around water and large vessels
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, sun, wind, and changing weather
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and remain active throughout the shift
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a marina or boatyard
- Basic knowledge of boats and marine equipment
- Customer service experience
