Position Overview
Xplicit Technologies, LLC is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor / Custodian to perform routine custodial services at a federal research facility located in Key West, Florida. This position supports a government facility and requires dependable service to maintain a clean, sanitary, and professional working environment.
The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and able to work independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for routine custodial services including, but not limited to:
- Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures
- Emptying trash and recycling containers and replacing liners
- Vacuuming carpeted areas in offices and hallways
- Sweeping and mopping hard surface floors
- Cleaning breakroom and kitchen areas including counters and sinks
- Restocking restroom supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap
- Wiping down frequently touched surfaces and work areas
- Maintaining overall cleanliness of offices, hallways, and common areas
Periodic deep cleaning tasks may also include:
- Dusting office furniture and horizontal surfaces
- Cleaning interior windows and glass surfaces
- Floor polishing or carpet cleaning as needed
Work Schedule
Cleaning services are typically performed two days per week.
Expected workload:
Approximately 9–12 hours per week
Flexible scheduling may be available depending on facility operating hours.
Requirements
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and follow cleaning procedures
- Reliable transportation to the job site in Key West
- Ability to pass standard access requirements for a federal facility
- Ability to lift cleaning equipment and supplies (up to 30 lbs)
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment
