Engineer – Sustainable Land Development (2–5 Years Experience)

Wicks Consulting Group (WCG) is a fast-growing civil engineering and planning firm nationally recognized for our innovative work in sustainable land development, flood resilience, and large-scale master-planned communities. We are seeking a highly motivated Engineerwith 2–5 years of land development experience to join our team.

Candidates must reside in the Tampa, FL area to participate in periodic in-person training, project field walks, and collaborative development opportunities.
About the Role
As an Engineer at WCG, you will support a variety of sustainable land development and stormwater projects throughout Florida and beyond. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers and project managers on tasks including:
- Site design for residential, mixed-use, and conservation-based communities
- Grading, drainage, and stormwater management design aligned with modern resiliency standards
- Utility Design (WaterCAD, SewerCAD or similar experience)
- Preparation of plans, technical reports, and design calculations
- Coordination with permitting agencies, municipalities, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Hydrologic/hydraulic analyses (ICPR, HEC-RAS 2D, StormWise experience a plus)
- GIS mapping and design support (ArcGIS, Civil 3D preferred)
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about sustainability, eager to learn, and motivated to contribute meaningfully to impactful projects across the region.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 2–5 years of experience in land development, stormwater engineering, or site design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Solid understanding of grading, utilities, stormwater design, and permitting processes
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Must reside in the Tampa, Florida area or be willing to relocate
- EIT preferred but not required
- Reliable high-speed internet
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with resilient design, Low Impact Development (LID), or sustainable planning
- Familiarity with SWFWMD, SFWMD, or Florida municipal permitting
- Modeling experience with ICPR, HEC-RAS 2D, StormWise, SWMM, or similar tools
- GIS experience and comfort with data-driven design workflows
- A passion for innovative engineering and future-forward community design
