Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, including pastries, cakes, doughs, and other confections with attention to detail and consistency
- Decorate cakes and desserts using advanced cake decorating techniques to meet presentation standards
- Follow recipes meticulously to ensure flavor, texture, and appearance meet quality expectations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, and pastry tools
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with food safety regulations
- Package finished products securely for delivery or service while preserving freshness and presentation
- Assist with food production tasks as needed during high-volume periods to ensure timely service
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a pastry chef or in a similar culinary role within the food industry
- Strong skills in cake decorating, dough preparation, baking, and food handling techniques
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to hygiene standards
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in pastry preparation methods
- Experience with high-volume production environments is preferred
- Basic math skills for measurements, portioning, and recipe scaling
- Customer service orientation with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
