Reporting to the Invoicing Manager, the Invoicing Specialist is responsible for overseeing and invoicing over 100 hospital account payments per day into the company’s database.
Responsibilities:
· Post payments and refunds received by hospital facilities
· Ensure proper revenue billed per contracts
· Verify Insurance coverage in EMR systems and company’s database on patient account for accuracy and contract compliance
· Understand and identify patient insurance premiums payments posted and located discrepancies within company’s database
· Note accounts in the proper hospital EMR’s as requested by facilities
· Note company’s database regarding outstanding and completed accounts
· Identify and report payment and refund discrepancies to department manager
·Maintain and access hospital EMR system monthly and check hospital emails every two weeks
· Keep compliance and up to date with hospital training and request
· Work demands may require alternative and/or additional working hours based upon business needs
· May require occasional evenings and weekends
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
· High School Diploma required
· College Degree or some college preferred
· Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience required
· Experience in the healthcare industry as a medical insurance biller, invoicing, and payment management of accounts
· Experience with Electronic Medical Records
· Epic EMR experience a plus
· Experience and navigating through Excel
·Understanding of copay, co-insurance, and deductibles with commercial insurance coverages is a plus
· Understanding qualifications of Medicaid, Medicare, and Third-Party insurance coverages Disability is a plus
· Ability to communicate effectively in speaking and writing as needed
· Ability to work independently (remote position)
· Microsoft Office and Teams Knowledge and Use Required
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
· Must be Organized
· Accuracy and Attention to detail
· Ability to meet quick deadlines and work under pressure
· Work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
· *Remote/Hybrid – at any point, if required to work from home a minimum internet speed of 75Mbps and reliable cellular signal is required to be able to do this job effectively
