Remote Position (FL Only) This is a remote position. Incumbents, who reside in Florida only, may work at home. There may be occasional situations that require work to be performed on-site at an assigned Lee Health location in the Fort Myers area.

Are you passionate about precision and quality in coding? As a Medical Coder, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of our patient data by abstracting detailed case summaries and coding diagnoses and procedures in line with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines. Your work will help drive the quality and efficiency of our coding team, ensuring our patients receive the best care experience. This position is fully remote, offering flexibility and the convenience of working from anywhere in Florida.
The Medical Coder will be responsible for:
- Coding surgical records, ED encounters, and outpatient services using Epic and 3M 360
- Ensuring compliance with coding regulations, including APC assignments and professional fee-specific coding
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance documentation quality and coding accuracy
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient coding experience
- Minimum of 1 Year of Outpatient (Acute Care Hospital or Physician) Multidisciplinary Coding and/or Provider E&M Level of Service Coding (Professional Fee Only)
- Certifications in at least one of the following: Certified Professional Coder, Certified Outpatient Coding, Certified Professional Coder-Payer, Certified Coding Specialist
- Certification in at least one of the following: Certified Risk Adjustment Coder, Certified Inpatient Coder, Registered Health Information Technician, Registered Health Information Administrator
