Job Description:
The primary function of this position is to oversee the daily operations of the Meal Site and Home Delivered Meal Services in compliance with Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) and Alliance for Aging (AfA) guidelines. Reporting directly to the Nutrition and Case Management Manager, the Nutrition Program Site Assistant is responsible for preparing meals and ensuring all meals are prepared, served, and delivered promptly and without interruption to clients. The role may also include managing volunteers and coordinating social activities, community engagement, and health-related programs as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Receives, tracks, and verifies all food and supply deliveries, ensuring accuracy against orders.

Ensures proper food storage, stock rotation, and inventory management according to FIFO standards.

Maintains an accurate inventory of delivered food, frozen meals, and supplies, and orders meals and supplies in advance to ensure uninterrupted service.

Responsible for informing the Site Manager and/or Administrator of orders placed and any anticipated needs.

Follows all aspects of the meal site and home-delivered meal operations to ensure compliance with DOEA, AfA, and department requirements

Heats and serves prepared meals, ensuring proper dining room setup and cleanup.

Completes daily logs, reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time.

Maintains the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas at all times.

Assists participants to and from transportation vehicles, as needed.

Performs delivery of home-delivered meals, ensuring timeliness, safety, and quality service.

Collects, records, and deposits voluntary contributions, including preparing and making bank deposits in compliance with county, department, and DOEA/AfA standards and policies.

Coordinates and manages program volunteers.

Maintains strict client confidentiality at all times.

Performs other job duties as assigned.

In the event of special, emergency, or disaster situations, employee may be required to work schedules other than those for which they are regularly scheduled in any capacity deemed appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. 1-year prior related work experience.
Special Qualifications:
Food Safety Certification to be obtained within the first 4 months of employment. Must pass level 2 DOEA and AHCA background screening immediately upon hire and maintain the same every five years.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to have procedures to follow for work and have supervisor check work often.

Ability to perform specific clerical or manual tasks. Some of the typical responsibilities may include copying, maintaining files, or entering data OR utilizing light mechanical equipment such as an oven, coffee pot, vehicle, copy machine, fax machine OR clean and maintain a facility.

Ability to follow specific procedures that may result in interaction with co-workers, citizens, or other individuals; ability to make some decisions regarding activities and priorities.

Ability to work primarily alone.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
