Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sorter to join our team. The Sorter will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient processing of materials by sorting, cleaning, and preparing items for further handling or disposal. This position requires a strong work ethic, the ability to operate heavy equipment, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Duties
- Sort various materials according to type, size, and quality for recycling or disposal.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and front loader trucks to move materials as needed.
- Perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks on equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in the fabrication of materials when necessary.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of items throughout the sorting process.
- Maintain accurate records of sorted materials and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in heavy equipment operation is preferred, including forklift and loader operation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks consistently throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and organization.
- Capability to work in various weather conditions if required for outdoor tasks.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to sorting processes and equipment operation.
- A proactive attitude towards safety practices and procedures in the workplace.
