Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sorter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sorting materials and ensuring that they are processed efficiently and accurately. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to operate various heavy equipment safely. The Sorter will play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of operations within our facility.
Duties
- Sort and categorize materials according to specified guidelines.
- Operate heavy equipment, including forklifts and front loader trucks, to assist with the sorting process.
- Fabricate necessary components as required for sorting operations.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of materials as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including equipment used during sorting.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize sorting processes and improve efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, such as garbage trucks, to ensure proper functioning.
- Follow all safety protocols while operating machinery and handling materials.
Experience
- Previous experience in heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Familiarity with loader operation and forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including digging and heavy lifting, consistently throughout the shift.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and efficiency is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Pay: $20.61 - $24.82 per hour
