Assistant Kayak Guide Starts July 5th
Adventure Paddle Tours is Naples' top-rated kayak tour company, offering guided paddling adventures through the beautiful mangrove forests and waterways of Southwest Florida. We are looking for a dependable, outgoing team member to assist our lead guides and help create exceptional experiences for our guests.
This is an entry-level position with paid training. While the primary role is assisting our lead guides, there is an opportunity for the right candidate to advance into a Lead Guide and potentially a full-time position in the very near future.
This position involves working in remote mangrove wilderness areas and requires a higher level of physical activity than a typical kayak rental job.
Position Overview
The Assistant Kayak Guide plays a key support role in our daily operations. This position focuses on guest service, equipment handling, photography, and assisting the Lead Guide before, during, and after tours.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, meeting new people, and learning the outdoor recreation and tourism industry.
Schedule
- Part-time seasonal position
- 3-5 shifts per week
- Typical shift: 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM
- Additional hours may become available during peak season
Responsibilities
- Assist with loading, unloading, and cleaning kayaks and equipment
- Help guests check in and complete waivers
- Fit guests with life jackets and paddling equipment
- Assist guests with launching and landing kayaks
- Take photos of guests during tours
- Support the Lead Guide throughout the tour experience
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Provide friendly, professional customer service at all times
- Help prepare equipment and vehicles for daily operations
Qualifications
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
- Comfortable working outdoors in Florida heat and weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry kayaks and equipment
- Friendly and professional communication skills
- Ability to work well with guests of all ages and backgrounds
- Weekend availability preferred
Preferred but Not Required
- Experience kayaking, paddleboarding, boating, fishing, or other outdoor activities
- Customer service or hospitality experience
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Photography or social media experience
Compensation
- $15-$17 per hour based on experience
- Paid training provided
- Opportunity for advancement into Lead Guide and Full-Time positions
