We are a well established consulting firm looking to hire a few local independent contractors (1099 position) to perform exterior and interior property inspections of community association properties throughout South Florida.
You work will require doing construction and condition assessment inspections of existing properties including hi-rise condominium buildings, townhomes, homeowner neighborhoods, golf and country clubs and resort clubs.
Your primary focus will be to identify, photograph and document existing construction elements including building envelope components, mechanical equipment, various amenities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, boat docks as well as private roads, parking lots and other property improvements.
You will have contact with building managers, maintenance personnel and community association board members.
Your work schedule will vary but on average will be 3 to 5 days per week. Occasional overnight travel in Florida will be required.
Requirements:
- Must have the physical mobility to stand and walk around for hours at a time while using a tablet to take notes, photos and measurements.
- Must be able to work outdoors in typical Florida weather.
- Must be able to read and comprehend architectural and civil construction plans
- Must be fluent in English. Spanish is a plus but not required.
- Must have a bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of experience in construction inspection or a civil engineering or architecture degree and one (1) year of experience in construction inspection.
- Must have reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance and a valid Florida driver's license.
- Must have a home office work area and high speed internet access.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
- Cost estimating experience is a plus but not required.
- Electronic plan takeoff experience using On-screen Takeoff is a plus but not required.
