Sign-on Bonus: $3,000
- Provide mental health and substance use counseling for individuals entering the DeSoto County Jail environment
- Utilize evidenced-based brief and solution focused individual or group therapy.
- Demonstrate emphasis on person and family-centered care
- Demonstrate competency in treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Conduct accurate, strength-based assessments
- Provide diagnoses that are consistent with individuals history, presenting problems and symptoms
- Develop and implement recovery-focused treatment plans, which include measurable objectives stated in behavioral terms.
- Respond to crises for individuals on caseload, as needed.
- Participate in risk assessments, as needed, to provide insight into reported behaviors and help with treatment recommendations.
- Effective Transition/Discharge Planning reflecting:
- Individuals participation and
- Incorporates strengths and natural supports
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, per agency standards; including progress notes and outcome tools.
- Work with individuals returning from crisis services.
- Obtain knowledge and maintain knowledge of related community service organizations
- Effectively communicate with community service organizations
- Develop and implement recovery-focused brief and solution focused individual or group therapy
- Provide linkage and referrals with mental health and substance use services.
- Provide professional development, as able, within normal working hours.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of rules and regulations (including Floridas Mental Health Act) pertaining to the care and treatment of persons with psychiatric or phase of life problems, including overall treatment concepts and objectives
- Masters Degree in the Human Services field.
- Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience.
- Experience working with adults in the behavioral health field.
- Experience treating co-occurring disorders and trauma preferred.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations (including Floridas Mental Health Act) pertaining to the care and treatment of persons with psychiatric or phase of life problems, including overall treatment concepts and objectives.
- Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.
- Valid FL drivers license, insurance, and safe driving record.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
- Ability to use a computer and document in an electronic medical record.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in collaboration with other community partners.
- Ability to manage stressful situations and display appropriate work demeanor and boundaries.
