SCHEDULE:
Friday - Tuesday 9AM-5PM
BASIC SUMMARY:
Provide security at Marco Beach Ocean Resort to include the beach area, bar, and parking garage.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide a security presence on the beach of the resort to avoid unruly behavior.
· Patrol beach, parking garage, and bar to assist Tarpon Club members.
· Prevent unauthorized use of parking held for Tarpon Club members in the parking garage.
· Periodically checks on valet employees to ensure no incidents occur.
· Responsible for cleanliness of work area.
· Respond to calls for service, usually when called on the cell phone from a supervisor.
· Call Marco Island police for any criminal activity.
· Complete detailed report(s) of all activity during shift.
· Respond to medical emergencies.
· Provide accurate information for inquiries regarding directions, hours of operation, etc.
· Other duties as assigned by the Director of Safety.
· Regular attendance in conformance with the standards established by the company is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
· Due to the cyclical nature of our industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.
· Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the company’s rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the facilities. Associates who violate the rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma required.
· Prior Military and Law enforcement a plus.
· Degree in criminal justice a plus.
· Must possess or be able to obtain a Class D license.
· Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards outlined in employee handbook).
· A proper uniform must be worn while on duty.
· Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
· Full-time associates must schedule PTO in the off-season months.
· Thorough knowledge of the property, facilities, and surrounding areas.
· Ability to effectively deal with internal and external residents, guests, and staff with a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
· Ability to listen effectively, speak, read, and write English clearly to ascertain and document important information.
· Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
· Ability to work in a team.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to achieve positive guest relations and maximize guest satisfaction.
· Ability to work without constant direct supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or transport up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
· Ability to stand, walk frequently; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
· Ability to perform the duties of the position while exposed to outside weather conditions.
· Ability to climb stairs and ladders at a rapid pace.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
· Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately, loudly, and quickly.
· Ability to perceive the nature of sounds at a normal speaking level and make fine discriminations in sound.
· Ability to have visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
