Domestic Violence Outreach Advocate – Middle and Lower Keys
Full-Time | $41,600/year / $20.00 per hour | Remote (Field-Based)
The Domestic Abuse Shelter (DAS) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Outreach Advocate to support survivors of domestic violence throughout the Middle and Lower Keys. This position provides trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy, crisis intervention, and connection to vital community resources.
This is a remote position; however, the advocate will be working in the field approximately 90% of the time.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Some evenings and weekends required
Flexible schedule needed to support 24-hour emergency shelter services
Position Summary:
The Outreach Advocate serves as a frontline support for survivors of domestic violence throughout Monroe County. This role focuses on empowering participants through education, emotional support, safety planning, and connection to community resources. Advocates collaborate with community partners and help survivors navigate complex systems while promoting safety, autonomy, and long-term stability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and trauma-informed advocacy
· Conduct individualized safety planning and risk assessments
· Assist participants with navigating legal, medical, housing, and social service systems
· Provide court accompaniment and support when needed
· Educate participants on their rights and available community resources
· Coordinate referrals and follow-up services
· Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client documentation, including keeping Osnium updated accurately
· Facilitate individual and group support services, including support groups
· Develop and deliver presentations and educational materials using PowerPoint
· Provide education, training, and outreach to community partners and stakeholders
· Court accompaniment
· Participate in community outreach, trainings, and local meetings
· Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
· Attend required trainings, supervision, and meetings
· Perform all other duties as assigned by management/supervisor
Qualifications:
· Experience in social services or related field preferred, not required
· Training will be provided
· Survivors of violence or abuse are encouraged to apply
Compensation & Benefits:
· Salary: $41,600/year $20.00/hour (overtime may be available)
· Additional $1.00/hour for verified bilingual (read, write, speak)
· Reimbursed for local travel
· 90% employer-paid health benefits after 90 days

Requirements:
· Must be a resident of Monroe County at the time of hire
· Must live within 50 miles of service location
· Must have a reliable car for work-related travel
· Must pass a Level II background check
· Must be fully vaccinated and provide documentation
