This position reports to the Chief of Security. It is a Full Time position. Applicants must be willing to work weekends, holidays and odd hours. As a front Gate Attendant, you will have the opportunity to serve in many capacities of our daily operations including but not limited to gate admissions, security patrols/watch and be a true "hospitality greeter."

- Overview/Job Summary/Essential Functions**
Administrative Functions:
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees and visitors and to guard against theft and maintain the security of our premises.
- Notes any deficiencies in the Club's security measures and reports them to the Department Head.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, the presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Appropriately warns persons of rule infractions or violations.
- Escort or drive a motor vehicle to transport individuals to the specified locations.
- Answer telephone calls and take messages, answer questions, and provide information during regular or non-business hours when switchboard is closed.
- Inspect security systems, equipment, or machinery to ensure operational use and detect evidence of tampering.
- Review and be familiar with safety, security and emergency planning manuals and procedures
- Document all incident properly: in case of accident or incident reports, be quick to accurate in your reporting, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem to you.
- Notify an owner immediately if you notice damage to their vehicle and note it on the log.
- Test emergency telephones in the elevators one a week.
- Review department log records and be familiar with pertinent information relevant to the daily shift.
- Completes written reports of all complaints and/or violations.
- Be able to accurately read and document water meters at main.
- Provide temporary relief for the Front Desk when necessary.
Attendant Functions:
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while demonstrating a superior level of hospitality skills.
- General clean up: Conducting basic clean up functions, including keeping the gate attendant booth clean and organized while working in it and upon your departure at the end of your shift. You are also expected to pick up all litter and debris that you encounter while walking to and from shift changes and while on patrol.
- The Security golf cart shall be washed by each shift at least once per week. If the cart is dirty at changeover the oncoming officer should request that the previous officer clean it before they leave.
- Enforces all rules and regulations of the Club and Homeowners Association.
- Maintain a clean, safe, enjoyable and helpful atmosphere for visitors and staff.
- Be familiar with Rules and Regulations as they are revised from time to time.
- When working the front gate during peak times, traffic lines could be backed up, so candidates for this position must be able to work quickly and efficiently, and accurately, but must do so with a customer service friendly attitude and disposition.
- Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Patrol Functions:
- Patrols club facilities, homeowners and marina property to ensure the safety of members, guests and employees.
- Investigates and reports any property damage or vandalism.
- Circulates among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Patrols parking lots; prevents unauthorized vehicles and people from using parking lots.
- Report all maintenance problems: Lights out in halls, parking lots oil leaks in parking spaces, etc.
- Patrol club buildings and premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Routinely investigates malfunctions, observed or reported and follows up accordingly.
- Observe any unusual or curious circumstances.
- Use your senses (eyes, ears, nose, and touch) to detect any unusual circumstances.
- Look for any signs of leaks, water or sprinkler breaks which may indicate a potential problem. Document in the Log Book. Investigate further, as required by the circumstances.
- Identifies maintenance needs not requiring prompt attention and submits work orders to correct the problem.
- Making designated rounds at least three, and preferably four times per shift. (See shift duties)
- Exercise general supervision over parking lot operation by providing systematic patrols to assure protection of vehicles and property, controlling access to parking lots and by enforcing traffic and parking rules.
- Follows procedures for assuring the security of all the club's facilities, assets, and grounds; assures these procedures are consistently followed.
Response Function:
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
- Responds to emergency and fire alarms.
- Call police or fire department in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Assists emergency service personnel when accessing the property and demonstrates good judgment, prioritize and resolve situations which may arise and knows when to refer situations to the Front Desk, Public Safety at ORC and or the Police.
- Administers CPR and first aid if necessary.
- Identifies maintenance needs not requiring prompt attention and submits work orders to correct the problem.
- Reports Maintenance, lighting, plumbing and electrical problems immediately.
Education/Skills/Interpersonal Core Competencies:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
- Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Have a working knowledge of computers.
- Must have a valid Florida Driver's License.
- Comply with a flexible work schedule.
- Must be willing to undergo and pass both a drug and background check.
- Prior security experience a plus.
- Ability to operate radio, security and computer equipment.
- Ability to process all paperwork according to policies and procedures.
- Must be AED/CPR Certified.
